Wike Insists PDP Convention Will Not Hold Without His Approval
According to a report by Arise TV, the reporter reported that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot hold its national convention without his approval.
Speaking on the Arise News, News reporter said Wike’s approval remains crucial before the convention can take place and warned that any attempt by the PDP leadership to proceed without his consent would not succeed.
He accused some party leaders of trying to undermine his influence despite his contributions to the PDP, warning that such actions could deepen the internal crisis facing the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PDP is currently making arrangements for its next national convention where key leadership positions will be decided.
Party leaders have yet to officially respond to Wike’s remarks .
