I Prefer Obi For Next Election But What I Am Seeing Is Different From What I Desire - Joshua Iginla

A fresh political prophecy has emerged ahead of the 2027 presidential election, as popular Nigerian pastor and televangelist, Joshua Iginla, warned that opposition parties risk losing heavily to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if they fail to unite.

The cleric, who is the founder of Champions Royal Assembly, made the revelation in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He explained that in a vision, he saw Tinubu wrapped with the Nigerian flag “sewn together with his cloth,” which to him signifies a strong chance of retaining power in the coming polls.

According to Iginla, the ruling president currently holds a clear advantage, and unless the opposition presents a united and strategic front, defeating him will be extremely difficult.

Clarifying that his message was not influenced by personal bias, the televangelist admitted that his own preference would be for Labour Party’s Peter Obi to emerge as president in 2027. However, he stressed that his prophecy is based on divine revelation and not his personal wish.

In his words:

“If I am to have my opinion, I prefer Peter Obi for the next election. That’s my opinion, I am not against anybody, I am not forcing it on you, it’s my own opinion but what I am seeing is different from what I desire.”

Iginla emphasized that the message should not be mistaken for an endorsement of Tinubu, but rather as a call for opposition leaders to put aside differences and work together. He noted that only unity and proper planning could give them any real chance of challenging the incumbent president.

The prophecy has stirred debates among Nigerians, with some interpreting it as a political warning while others view it as a spiritual insight into the shape of the 2027 election.
