Rivers Community Council Of Chiefs Vice Chairman Shot Dead By Unknown Gunmen
Gunmen suspected to be Iceland cult members have on Saturday evening shot dead the Vice Chairman, Obelle Council of Chiefs in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, Chief Ferdinand Dabiri.
It was gathered that the assailants led by one ‘Cairo’ approached the venue where Chief Dabiri and other Chiefs were holding a meeting, walked straight to the victim, shot him twice and fled using a motorcycle after confirming him dead.
The incident resulted in pandemonium as other chiefs scampered for safety.
Some natives have also fled the community following the gruesome killing of the chief.
The second son of the deceased, Joseph Eze Dabiri confirmed the ugly incident to our correspondent over the telephone.
He said, “I heard that a guy came with a gun while my father was in a meeting at Omuwoka village in Obelle, shot at him twice and fled on Saturday evening.”
