We Don’t Need To Kill Ourselves. When Jungle Mature, We Will Know- Nyesom Wike
Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has retaliated against political rivals and detractors who still doubt his judgment and leadership style, asserting that when the time is right, everyone will know who is in control.
Wike responded forcefully, dismissing their criticisms and stating that social media discussion cannot affect real politics. He claimed that many of his detractors lack political infrastructure as well as electoral legitimacy.
“You who cannot win an election, and you are telling me, telling us about misplaced priority. If you had priority, they could have voted for you. It’s not about social media,” he said.
He also urged his opponents to refrain from escalating disputes now and to hold off until the 2027 elections. “We don’t need to kill ourselves. When jungle matures, we will know,” Wike emphasized, sending a strong message to his political opponents.
The former governor of Rivers State clarified that only making noise from the opposition benches is insufficient to get achievements in administration. He thinks his detractors lack the practical knowledge of political campaigns, broad experience, and robust grassroots support that it requires.
Wike stated unequivocally that he would not be deterred by outside distractions and would keep his attention on fulfilling the commitments made to the people of the Federal Capital Territory.
His recent comments coincided with his former remarks targeted at his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he accused him of not being able to win any election.
