Nyesom Wike’s Statue Restored After Alleged Demolition
The statue of Former Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, has been restored to its original state after it was allegedly pulled down during the Administration of Suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The restored statue stands once again as a symbol of legacy, leadership, and the enduring impact of Wike’s administration.
The restoration effort was carried out under the leadership of the Sole Administrator of the Local Government Area, Dr. Ndu Walter.
According to Comrade Prince Ebere, Media Aide to the former governor, the original project was part of the legacy initiatives executed by the administration of Chief Dr. Barr. George Ariolu JP.
Comrade Ebere expressed appreciation to Dr. Walter for taking decisive steps to restore the statue and bring back a sense of pride and unity to the people.
He noted that during the recent political crisis in the state, some individuals who believed in politics of destruction targeted important projects, including the statue, in an attempt to erase the legacy of past leaders.
“Thanks to the Sole Administrator for restoring peace and order in the LGA. This act goes beyond a statue it’s about preserving history and showing respect to those who have served with distinction,” Ebere stated.
The restoration has been widely applauded as a step toward reconciliation and progress.
