NDLEA Nabs Iran-Bound Businessman With 53 Wraps of C%c@ine Ingested
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 44-year-old businessman, Ezemokwe Chukwuebuka, for attempting to smuggle c%ca+ne by ingesting 53 wraps of the illicit substance.
According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the suspect was apprehended on Saturday, June 7, at the Port Harcourt International Airport while preparing to board Qatar Airways flight QR1434 to Tehran, Iran, via Doha.
A body scan confirmed dr¥g ingestion, prompting officials to place him under observation. He later excreted a total of 53 wraps of c%ca+ne in six separate passes, weighing 1.172 kilograms.
Babafemi noted that the arrest came just two weeks after another businessman, Chinedu Okigbo, 60, was caught at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport with 65 c%ca+ne pellets in his stomach.
Ezemokwe reportedly confessed to being involved in dr¥g tr@ff+cking for the past two years, shuttling between West Africa and Iran.
