Video: Wike: Two Dogs Were Fighting Over a Bone, and Out of Nowhere, Another Dog Snatched It-Gov Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has broken his silence on the deepening political conflict involving himself and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The dispute between the governor and his predecessor has taken a dramatic turn in recent times, especially after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervened by placing both the state governor, his deputy, and members of the state assembly on suspension.
In an effort to ease the mounting tension, Governor Fubara has reportedly engaged in peace talks with Wike. These discussions are believed to be part of broader efforts to stabilize the political environment in Rivers State.
However, a new video has emerged online showing Governor Fubara employing a striking metaphor to depict the fragile nature of the situation. In the footage, he emphasizes the importance of avoiding a breakdown in relations between himself and Wike, likening their struggle to two dogs fighting over a bone—only for a third dog to suddenly swoop in and seize it.
Explaining the meaning behind the imagery, Fubara clarified that the two dogs represent himself and the former governor, while the bone refers to control over the leadership of Rivers State. He warned that continued hostilities between both sides could open the door for an outsider to capitalize on the disunity and take control.
In his exact words, he stated,
“Two dogs were dragging a bone, and while they were dragging, another one just came from nowhere and snatched the bone.”
