Video: FCT Minister, Wike Seals PDP Secretariat Over Unpaid Ground Rent

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed the building housing the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja over non-payment of ground rent arrears spanning 19 years.

The enforcement, led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, is part of a broader crackdown targeting 8,375 property owners owing ₦6.97 billion. The FCTA, citing Section 28(5) of the Land Use Act, revoked the land title and sealed the property after repeated notices went unheeded.

PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba called the move “politically motivated,” while the FCTA insists it is strictly enforcing compliance with land regulations.
