Trump Commutes Sentence of Ex-Gang Leader Larry Hoover, Who Was Serving Life in Prison for a 1973 M¥rder

President Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of Larry Hoover, the former Chicago gang leader who was serving a life term at a federal supermax prison in Colorado.

The decision, first reported by NOTUS and later confirmed by a White House official on condition of anonymity, has not yet been officially announced.

Hoover, originally sentenced for a 1973 murder and later convicted in 1998 for running a criminal enterprise, has long claimed to have renounced his gang ties. His family has consistently asserted that he is no longer affiliated with the Gangster Disciples.

Despite numerous appeals for clemency over the years, all had been denied—until now.
