I don’t know how BAT gets his information, but the truth is that he acted with wisdom-Siminalayi Fubara

According to Leadership News,Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely intervention in the political crisis that recently rocked the state.

Speaking during a meeting with stakeholders of the Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Fubara said the President’s involvement played a crucial role in preventing what he described as a looming breakdown of order.

The meeting was part of activities to mark his two years in office, during which he acknowledged that the situation in the state could have deteriorated if not for prompt action from the presidency.

The Rivers State political scene has been tense over recent months, with power struggles threatening the stability of the state’s governance. Governor Fubara, who has been at the center of the dispute, said the peace and reconciliation process has since begun. According to him, efforts are now focused on restoring the functionality of executive and legislative arms of government. “We are already in the peace process,” he said, adding that the priority now is to ensure both arms work together harmoniously to deliver governance that meets the expectations of Rivers people.

Fubara, while addressing the crowd of supporters and political stakeholders, urged the public to recognize and appreciate President Tinubu’s decisive role in resolving the situation. “I want you to thank Mr President for his timely intervention to salvage the situation, and stabilise the polity and the State. If not for Mr President, the story today would have been different,” he said. He further noted that the President acted with clarity and wisdom, which helped prevent what could have turned into a full-blown crisis.

He also extended gratitude to other influential figures across the country who played a role in convincing the President to act. Fubara said he was personally thankful not only to President Tinubu but also to those who reached out behind the scenes in support of a peaceful resolution. While details of the reconciliation process remain largely within political circles, the governor emphasized that the goal is to resume full governance operations and restore public confidence in the state's institutions.

Looking ahead, Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to democracy, peace, and development in Rivers State. He stated that despite the turbulence, he remains focused on his mandate to serve the people and ensure stability in governance. “Democracy and good governance will soon return in the state, with both arms working together for the good of the people,” he said. As Rivers State begins its journey toward reconciliation and normalcy, the governor’s remarks underscore the importance of political cooperation and timely leadership in averting crisis and upholding the democratic process.

He said: “I don’t know how he gets his information, but the truth is that he acted with wisdom at the right time. He is the one you should thank. And let me also thank him personally for his intervention, and the personalities across the country, who moved in and appealed to him to intervene.
