Senator Reveals How She Warned Natasha About Akpabio’s Alleged Unusual Request
Senator Ireti Kingibe, who is the representative for the Federal Capital Territory in the Senate, conveyed what Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uguaghan told her about Senate President Godswill Akpabio during an interview that was uploaded to the official YouTube channel of Arise News.
In addition, she provided an explanation as to why the other three female senators did not intervene in the dispute that was taking place between Senator Natasha and the President of the Senate.
It was disclosed by Senator Kingibe that Senator Natasha had given her the information that the President of the Senate had requested that she meet with him at a hotel for a talk.
Senator Kingibe made the following statement: “I can say that other women in the Senate have also been moved from their seats several times, but on that day, I wasn’t there, and I gathered information that several men were also moved.”
“I’m only here as the chairperson of women’s affairs in the Senate, and I want other women to know that we have to follow the rules in any institution we choose to enter,” she concluded in her speech.
Even before they were elected to the Senate, they already had a personal connection with one another. Senator Kingibe disclosed that the three of us did not have any personal contact with Senate President Akpabio prior to our arrival.
She informed me that she was scheduled to discuss something with him (Senator Akpabio), and he requested her to meet him at some hotel. I went to her home, and after she offered me a lunch, she told me that she was going to meet with him as well. “You only meet senators at their homes or their offices,” I told her. “Everywhere else is impossible.” The interviewer then cut off Senator Kingibe in the middle of his statement.
