PDP Crisis: Enough of Nyesom Wike, Atiku Abubakar’s Nonsense-Bode George
Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and member of the party’s Board of Trustees, has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, over the ongoing crisis within the party.
Speaking on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on January 31, 2025, George described the PDP crisis as frustrating and harmful to the party’s stability.
According to Vanguard, he blamed Atiku and Wike, stating that their personal ambitions have severely weakened the opposition party.
According to him, both politicians have committed “hara-kiri” and should be held accountable.
George urged PDP members to stop blaming the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their internal problems and instead focus on resolving the party’s divisions.
He emphasized that throwing accusations at the APC only distracts from the real issues within the PDP.
As a solution, he called for the establishment of a committee to investigate the root causes of the crisis, particularly events surrounding the party’s 2023 national convention.
He insisted that any member found guilty of misconduct should face consequences.
“We must set up a committee to x-ray the mess that started on that convention day. Anyone guilty of serious offences must be sanctioned.
If you are part of an organization, you must follow its rules.
If you can’t abide by them, then we ease you out,” George stated.
He urged PDP leaders to prioritize party unity over personal interests, warning that continued division would only weaken the opposition further.
