They Told Me If PDP Wins, They’ll Chase Me Out, Send Me to Jail, The EFCC Will Arrest Me–Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and a former governor of Rivers State, has disclosed the reasons for his decision to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the most recent presidential election, as well as the cautions he received.

Speaking at the Ahoada East and West PDP end-of-year Thanksgiving ceremony in Rivers State, Wike blasted his detractors and restated his steadfast election-related decisions in a video that SYMFONI TV released.

Wike claimed that numerous individuals cautioned him against endorsing Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) candidate at the time. They warned him that he would be subject to harsh repercussions, such as being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and maybe imprisoned, should the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) win. Wike claimed, however, that he stayed steadfast because he thought it was important to act in his people’s best interests.

“You’re hearing all this plot, don’t you know what God’s plot is?” Wike enquired. My conscience forbids me from standing by you. I shall stand by Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu regardless of the repercussions. You may identify guys of character in this way. He stated unequivocally that he made his decision in order to prevent his people from being treated like second-class citizens.

Wike made it clear that he had no regrets or apologies for his choice and that he would do it again if given the chance. “He’s not a man you will see at night, and in the afternoon, it is a different thing,” the outspoken lawmaker added, emphasising the value of consistency and integrity.

Wike’s audacious comments demonstrate his position on loyalty, leadership, and sticking up for his convictions.
