3 siblings suffocate to death inside stationary car in Kwara
On Sunday, three children of the same parents were found dead inside a parked car in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The victims, a boy and two girls, were choked to death inside their automobile parked at No 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters in the Ilorin metropolis.
According to reports, the event occurred when their mother, Shade Silifat, was out shopping for noodles for their Monday morning school meals.
Before she returned at 2pm, the kids had locked themselves in the parked car and choked to death.
Silifat discovered their footwear outside the parked car and raised the alarm after forcing the doors of the car open.
The children were then rushed to Olutayo Clinic, close to their residence for medical attention
They were, however, referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, where they were confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, the three siblings were later taken to a Muslim cemetery for burial according to Islamic rites.
Efforts to get the Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Toun, to confirm the incident proved abortive as there was no response to calls and text messages to her phone at the time of filing this report
