Everything Is A Lie — Sowore Speaks On Where Akeredolu Died
The Flagbearer of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections, Omoyele Sowore, has described as lies all that had been said earlier by the wife and children of late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu
Recall that the late Ondo state governor died in the early hours of Wednesday in a German hospital after a prolonged battle with Leukemia at the age of 67.
However, the reports surrounding Akeredolu’s death have since generated mixed reactions among politicians, and concerned Nigerians.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Sowore said the remains of the late Ondo State Governor would have to be shown to the public to determine the period of his death
The Publisher of SaharaReporters argued that the body language of Akeredolu’s wife and son indicated that they were not honest about the information they disclosed to the public regarding the late governor’s time and location of death.
Sowore further stated that the claim of the late governor's death in Germany is untrue, and he suggested that it could be seen as a ploy devised by the governor's family members to misappropriate public funds.
He said "Some two days ago, the wife of the governor was in Ondo State, insulting everybody that they are bush people. A week ago, she met with some members of the House of Assembly. And now we’re finding out tonight that Akeredolu didn’t die in Germany.
So they are all lying to the public that he died in Germany. Maybe they wanted to use that to take some more money out of the state. I don’t get it. Everything is a lie"
Speaking further, Sowore said the late Akeredolu didn’t follow the Constitution when he transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa when he first travelled to Germany.
The Constitution was not obeyed in transferring power to the deputy governor.
"A lot would have been resolved a year ago, as there was already available evidence that the governor was not likely to make it" he added
