Bandits kill 3 in Kwara community


 Three people were slain by Bandits in Kwara state’s capital.


Others were injured to varied degrees by the hoodlums’ gunshots.


Last Tuesday, a gang of gunmen raided Alalubosa community, Oko Olowo, Asa local government area of the state.


The hoodlums allegedly entered the community, shooting sporadically leading to pandemonium in the area.


Sources in the area said that the gunmen stormed the community around 10:00pm when the residents were enjoying cool weather outside their houses, adding the residents ran for their lives when the attackers decided to attack the houses one after another


One girl, Semiat Mukaila, was shot on the arm, while Abdullahi Awe’s leg was broken with gun butt. They are both receiving treatment at hospital now. The hoodlums also shot Isiaq Abdullahi on the arm.


“After they shot another resident, AbdulRasheed Alafara, on the leg and he tried to escape from the scene, the attackers pursued him and gave him machete cuts until he died


“The members of the vigilante team also succeeded in killing one of the suspected kidnappers,” a source said


Reports also had it that the gunmen, numbering six, rained bullets for more than 30 minutes and members of the local vigilante team were able to gun down one of the hoodlums while others ran away.


The source in the area gave kudos for bravery of the men of the local vigilante team, appealing to concerned authorities to provide them with adequate ammunition to combat insurgents.


Police spokesperson Okasanmi Ajayi confirmed the report.


He said that the Police Command had drafted its men to the scene
