EFCC nabs 17 suspected internet fraudsters in Akwa Ibom

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents from the Uyo Zonal Command have detained 17 alleged online fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, at various places.

Several intelligence reports tying the accused to various internet illegal activities led to their arrests during a sting operation.

The Commission confirmed the arrest in a post on its Twitter page.

Items recovered from the suspects include; mobile phones, a television set, a red Toyota Camry LE car, a black Honda car and two Lexus cars.

“The suspects will be charged to Court as soon as the investigations are concluded,” it added
