Lagos : Gov Uzodimma intervenes in Igbo, Yoruba’s feud


The Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has intervened in the ongoing impasse between the Igbo community and their host communities in Lagos State.


A post shared on the verified Imo New Media page on Friday, Uzodimma, in his address promised to use any means possible to unite the situation which includes meeting with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to resolve all extended differences.


While promising to address the outstanding differences between the Igbos and the Yoruba community, the Governor enjoined all to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration which is centred on unity.


“It was an interactive session as the Governor listened keenly to the factors affecting their businesses and residences in Lagos as well as the security challenges in the Southeast region


” They appealed to the Governor to intervene to help their businesses thrive alongside their host state and encourage other groups who plan to move businesses to the southeast region but are hindered by the insecurity and transportation challenges especially extending the construction of a railway system to the Southeast region.


In the company of the Governor to the interactive meeting with the Igbo community in Lagos were the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Mbah, and the Deputy Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu,” the post read.
